Using RepoGo

Sending files from a card

A card can have an Upload button that sends files from your phone to one of your project's plugins: receipts to file away, photos to sort, a PDF to read. To get one, ask your agent, for example "a card where I can upload receipts to my expenses plugin".

Using it#

Tap the button and pick where the file comes from. You see only the choices that fit what the plugin takes:

  • Take Photo or Record Video opens the camera.
  • Photo Library opens your photos.
  • Choose File opens the Files app, showing only the kinds of file the plugin takes.

If there's only one choice, the tap opens it directly. Some Upload buttons let you pick several files at once, up to 10.

While the files are sent, a progress bar shows under the button. Tap Cancel to stop. If the connection drops, tap Retry to pick up where it stopped. Once every file has arrived, the plugin runs. If it asks a question first, such as "Delete these files?", you answer before anything happens.

Where the files go#

Files travel to your environment encrypted, like everything else RepoGo sends, and never pass through our servers unencrypted.

The environment keeps each file for the plugin until a day after it was last used. A plugin keeps a lasting copy wherever it stores its data. Nothing lands in your project's folder unless the plugin puts it there.

For plugin authors#

A method takes uploads by declaring files: z.array(upload()). Each file has an id, name, type, size, and a path on the environment. Copy what you keep, for example into a bucket with put({ body: Bun.file(file.path), name: file.name }).

The plugin SDK's README has the details, under Uploads. A method only accepts files that were actually uploaded for that call, so an agent can't point it at other files on your environment.

Limits#

  • Up to 10 files per upload, each up to 1 GB.
  • Videos from your library are converted to a widely supported format before they're sent, which can take a moment for long ones.
  • Uploads need the app; the App Clip shows cards as text.
