Getting started

Pair your iPhone

Pairing connects your iPhone to one computer. You do it once; after that the app reconnects on its own.

Scan the code#

When you install the host, or run npx @repogo/host pair, the terminal shows a QR code and a pairing code:

text
Scan with Camera expires in 2m0s
  Code ABCD1234EFGH56
  Link https://repogo.app/ABCD1234EFGH56

Point your iPhone camera at the QR code.

  • If RepoGo is installed, it asks Pair with this environment? Tap Pair.
  • If it isn't, an App Clip opens so you can pair and start chatting right away. The App Clip connects to one environment; install the full app and upgrade to RepoGo Pro to pair multiple environments. Your existing environment remains paired when you install the app.

The first time you open RepoGo, it shows what your data is shared with, then offers to pair. Choose Mac or Linux for instructions to open Terminal, run npx @repogo/host, and scan the QR code it shows. Tap Copy beside the command to copy it on your iPhone. The Windows option explains that Windows isn’t supported yet.

Tap Scan QR Code, or Enter Pairing Code to type the 14-character code. You can skip pairing and add an environment later with the + card on the new chat screen. If you copied the code, Paste pairing code under Add Environment reads it from your clipboard.

After pairing, RepoGo walks you through signing in to GitHub and your agents on that computer.

A code works once and expires after two minutes. Run npx @repogo/host pair for a fresh one.

Generate a QR code image#

To render an existing pairing code as a standard QR code, request:

text
GET https://repogo.app/api/qr-code?code=12345678901234

Replace the example with your host's 14-character pairing code. The response is an SVG encoding https://repogo.app/12345678901234, using black squares on a white background with a clear border for scanning. This renders the full code; it does not create, extend, or consume the pairing invite.

The endpoint returns 400 for missing, repeated, or invalid codes, and 500 if generation fails.

This optional API sends the pairing code to RepoGo's web server in the request URL, where hosting infrastructure may log it. Responses are marked no-store, and the handler does not log or persist codes. To keep the code on your own environment during generation, use the host's locally generated image instead. Opening the generated path URL in a browser also sends the code to the web server.

Pair more computers#

Tap Add Environment and pair the next computer the same way. RepoGo Free connects to one environment at a time; RepoGo Pro connects to as many as you like.

Pair more devices#

Each device gets its own pairing. Run npx @repogo/host pair on the computer and scan the new code with the other device.

To let several devices join over a longer time, for example a machine nobody sits at, open a reusable invite:

bash
npx @repogo/host pair --reusable 14d

It accepts days or hours (14d, 36h), from one hour up to 30 days. Any number of devices can join until it expires. End it early with npx @repogo/host pair --reusable off; devices that already joined stay paired.

See and remove paired devices#

bash
npx @repogo/host devices
npx @repogo/host devices revoke <id>

Revoking a device closes its connections, and it can no longer reach the host. On the phone, that environment shows as No Longer Paired and stops reconnecting. Tap Pair Again and scan a new code from the same computer.

You can also remove other devices from your phone: open the environment in Settings → Environments, and swipe left on a device under Paired Devices.
