Getting Started

Pair your iPhone with your Mac in a few minutes. You only need to do this once.

Choose where your project runs#

The agents shown in a chat depend on where that project's files live:

Project locationAgents you can useWhat you need
On this iPhoneRepoGoA Vercel AI Gateway key for model access
Paired MacRepoGo, plus Codex, Claude, Cursor, or Copilot when installed on that MacRepoGo Host, plus each CLI installed and signed in on the Mac
Cloud sandboxRepoGo and the CLI agents installed in the sandboxA sandbox provider connection, plus any agent credentials you want restored into the sandbox

Connecting a Codex account does not add Codex to an on-device project. To use Codex, open a project on a paired Mac where Codex is installed and signed in, or create a cloud sandbox. See Connect Your Coding Agents for the complete setup.

1. Download RepoGo Host on your Mac#

Download RepoGo Host for Mac →

Open the downloaded .dmg, drag RepoGo Host into Applications, and launch it. RepoGo Host appears in your Mac's menu bar and shows a QR code.

If macOS asks to allow background activity, approve it so RepoGo can stay available when you are away. See Keep RepoGo Host Available in the Menu Bar for the recommended settings.

2. Open RepoGo on your iPhone#

If you do not have the app yet, download RepoGo for iPhone on the App Store.

In RepoGo, tap Scan QR Code. If you have already completed the welcome flow, open Environments and tap +. On iPhone, choose Mac; on Android, tap Scan QR code.

3. Scan the QR code or paste the token#

Point your phone at the QR code shown by RepoGo Host. Your Mac is signed in and paired automatically.

If you copied the code instead, open Environments, tap +, then tap Paste connection token. RepoGo reads the copied token and starts pairing immediately.

That's it. There is no separate Mac login or approval step.

Start your first project#

  1. Start a New Chat in RepoGo.
  2. Choose your Mac and the folder you want to work in.
  3. Pick an agent and send it a task.

Your agent can now read and edit files, run commands, and open that folder's dev server in the project browser.

Can't see the QR code?#

Click the RepoGo Host icon in your Mac's menu bar and choose Pair a phone…. Make sure RepoGo Host is open and allow camera access on your phone when prompted.

Can't see Codex or another agent?#

  • For an on-device project, seeing only RepoGo is expected. Move the project to a paired Mac or cloud sandbox to use CLI agents.
  • On a paired Mac, install the agent's CLI and sign in on that Mac. RepoGo only lists agents that the host can run.
  • In a cloud sandbox, connect the agent under Integrations, then open the project on that sandbox. A connected account does not change the agent list for a project stored on your iPhone.
